When Should I Go To An Emergency Room?

Walkin clinic emergency room

If are suffering a life threatening condition go straight to the Emergency room. This would include chest pain (could be heart failure) difficulty breathing, severe dizziness or unusual severe headache, chronic vomiting, unstoppable bleeding, broken bones which come through the skin. These situations and similar can’t be treated in and Walk-in clinic and you will be sent to an Emergency room anyway. Walk-in clinics and Urgent Care centers are for minor injuries, minor infections ( ie urinary tract, throat etc) minor burns, and some allergic reactions. They will not be able to help with serious injury and by going to a Walk-in clinic you may be delaying urgent treatment you need and you may suffer as a result.

In Summary, go to Emergency care with any of these;

  • Heart attack or chest pains
  • Inability to breathe
  • Collapse/seizure/stroke
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Serious head or neck injury
  • Motor vehicle incidents
